You have reached the
home of Swedish Motorcar Service, Spokane, Washington, owned by John Lippis. (We
also serve customers from Montana, Idaho, Oregon and Western Washington.
Saab owners from the Missoula area also find us closer than the dealer in
Billings. We're an Independent Repair Shop specializing in Saab, and proud to
service one of the finest automobiles in the world. Saabs
perform well in all weather conditions, and offer a spirited, high
performance drive while getting excellent gas mileage. The most important reason for owning a Saab is
Safety for the Family, however. Saab's are designed to protect people
first and foremost in all kinds of accidents: Head On - Rear End - Rollovers -
Side Impacts and even Large-animal collisions. In over 38 years of working
on Saab, we have seen scores of accidents involving Saabs, but have known of no
fatalities and few, if any major injuries. Saabs are designed by the Swedish company,
Saab-Scania, now owned by GM Imports (General Motors of Europe).
Many of our customers
have kept their
Saabs in the family for over 20 years, passing them onto their teenage drivers for safety's sake. This kind of
service life is only possible with the best of Preventive
Maintenance.

Swedish
Motorcar Service...
We are the only Saab Specialists, Independent or Franchised, in the
Northwest Inland Empire area. Though we are located in Spokane, many of our customers reside in Montana,
Idaho, Oregon and Western Washington. We take pride in our work, and
believe we give the
finest Saab Care available anywhere, aimed
at keeping a Saab roadworthy and safe for 200,000 - 300,000 miles. Our
maintenance program far exceeds Saab Factory Specs.

possible as Saab Specialists, at an affordable price. For the many
hundreds of Saab customers and families we have served over the years, we have
always striven to serve as the “family doctor” for their Saabs, providing a
full line of service and repair. Over the last 3 years we have served
nearly 500 families and their Saabs.

Company
Profile... Swedish Motorcar Service was founded by
John Lippis and his
oldest sons, Dan and Mike Lippis, in 1991. John has been
servicing Saabs exclusively for over 40 years.
We specialize in full Saab Care,
not simply repair and servicing. Our Maintenance Program is
far beyond Saab factory specs and is modeled after the component maintenance
programs used in aviation maintenance. Our 5000 mile Oil & Inspection Service is used as the
basis for periodic inspections, and our advanced computer tracking system
(nothing like it in the industry) is used to monitor the service life of the
many components found on each individual model of Saab. All work done on
your Saab will either be done by John or Brad, experienced Technicians. We
have no "lube" or lesser trained personnel working on your Saab. Please
note that any of our articles, past and present, may have information, opinions
and specs. that have changed without notice due to new information we have
learned, but not reflected this in our past articles. If any question,
write us.
Policies & Guarantees... We try to be
flexible on any disagreements, however, these are the policies of real-world
auto repair.

1. Diagnostic Time is charged
at Shop Hourly Rate and that there are No Guarantees that the problem will
be discovered or remedied. |

|
|
(Minimum Estimate Times for
Diagnostics, Troubleshooting, and Preparing Other Estimates for repairs
will range from 1 Hr. to 3 Hrs.) |
|
|
|
2. In general, our Workmanship
is guaranteed, and many, but not all parts have warranties, but warranties
will vary. |
|
|
|
|
|
There are no implied
warranties other than those specifically written. Any Warranties on the
products sold herein are those made by |
|
|
|
the manufacturer. Most, but
not all parts have warranties on the part only, and this usually does not
include labor. |
|
|
|
|
|
In case of part failure, there
are no implied warranties to other affected parts or any other damage or
liability caused by the failed part. |
|
|
|
3. We are not responsible for
problems or potential problems not detected, repaired, or noted during any
repair, inspection or service. |
|
|
|
4. Some repairs might be done
diagnostically to attempt to remedy a problem; We cannot guarantee that in
these cases, any or all of the problem will be solved. |
|
5. In all cases of Premature
Wear or Part Failure, the final decision to cover parts or labor under any
warranty will be at |
|
|
|
|
|
the discression of Swedish
Motorcar Service. Usually, we will split the Labor, and offer the
replacement part at a Pro-rated Discount |
|
|
|
it fails or wears out before
what we deem as a "reasonable time." Example: our mufflers are
pro-rated at 4 years. |
|
|
|
|
|
6. It is the customer's
responsibility to inquire regarding guarantees of specific repairs, before
the job is begun. |
|
|
|
|
|
(You are entitled by law to
have any express warranties in writing.) |
|
|
|
|
|
|
Payment in full will be due
upon delivery of vehicle. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
A $10.00 per day storage fee
may be charged after 2 days of completion of work. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
An Express "Mechanic's
Lien" is acknowledged in lieu of satisfactory payment for services. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
You are Entiled by Law to the
following: |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
1. A Written Estimate for the
Repairs which will cost over $100, unless waived of absent face to face
contact. |
|
|
|
|
|
2. Authorize Orally Or In
Writing Any Repairs Which Exceed The Estimated Cost Or Written
Authorization To Exceed The |
|
|
|
|
Estimated Total Pretax Cost By
More Than 10%. Note: Our Estimates May Not Include Towing Bills, which are
offered at Wholesale Cost. |
|
|
|
We will ask
you to sign a Work Authorization and Liability Waiver that states "I assume responsibility and
hold harmless Swedish Motorcar Service and its personnel (herein "SMS")
for the following, but not limited to:" |
|
|
* Any aftermath or
consequences arising from SMS's inability to reproduce the symptoms or
failures described, or from practicing common sense diagnostic |
|
procedures to ensure that we
are not making an unnecessary repair, such as: erasing scanned trouble
codes to moniter if the |
|
|
|
|
problem reoccurs, i.e.; if we
erase an airbag code/lite, we are not responsible if it reoccurs and you
are injured in an accident because the airbag did not |
|
|
function, or if we erase a
throttle body code and reset the component instead of replacing it, saving
you the expense of replacement or making sure that |
|
|
this is not a
"ghost" symptom, or while waiting for parts to arrive, the
failure occurs again and causes an accident, we will not be held
responsible.) |
|
|
* Any aftermath or subsequent
recurrance of sludge formation in the engine, whether undiscovered,
advised regarding, treated, cleaned or repaired in any way, |
|
or from flushing any fluid in
my vehicle (chemical reactions etc.) or from any other system or component
failure beyond SMS's direct control. |
|
|
|
* Any damage to the engine
from overheating or loss of oil pressure, or associated inconvenience,
towing, and other aftermath. (It is the driver's responsibility to |
|
recognize these conditions and
shut down the vehicle before any damage has resulted -- for instance we
cannot be responsible for a hose failure and resultant |
|
damage and other aftermath.) |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
* Any problems not discovered
or forecast by SMS during their visual inspections or other work. I
understand that SMS may not be able to predict or prevent |
|
later failures or
unreliability, and Swedish Motorcar Service and their personnel are not
responsible to me in this manner. |
|
|
|
|
* Any aftermath or
consequences arising from declined, deferred, provisional or alternative
repairs (often performed for the purposes of diagnostic |
|
|
troubleshooting, interim
repair or reduced repair & maintenance expenses.) |

|
|
|
|
